Created in 2005 by artists Elmgreen and Dragset, Prada Marfa is a permanent sculptural art installation disguised as a luxury boutique. Positioned alongside a lonely stretch of US Route 90, the structure was designed to slowly decay back into the landscape, though it remains meticulously maintained.

Visitors will find a minimalist adobe-style building housing actual Prada shoes and handbags from the Fall/Winter 2005 collection, selected by Miuccia Prada herself. Although the door is permanently locked, the illuminated windows offer a surreal, high-fashion window-shopping experience in the middle of the Chihuahuan Desert.

The installation serves as a critique of consumerism and gentrification, contrasting high luxury with the vast, desolate Texas landscape. It has become an iconic pop-culture landmark, attracting fashionistas, road-trippers, and art lovers from around the globe.
