Kaikoura Seal Colony

Kaikoura, Canterbury

Located just a short drive south of Kaikoura, this rocky coastline serves as a permanent home for a large population of New Zealand fur seals. Visitors can walk along well-maintained viewing platforms to observe the marine mammals resting on the rocks or playing in the surf. It is one of the most accessible places in the country to see wild fur seals up close in their natural habitat.
