Hartman Rock Garden

Springfield, Ohio

Handcrafted during the Great Depression, this extraordinary folk art environment features hundreds of miniature stone structures, figurines, and gardens. Self-taught artist Ben Hartman used local stones to construct detailed castles, historical monuments, and biblical scenes in his own backyard. It is a whimsical masterpiece of American outsider art.
