Worth the detour in Wyoming

Terry Bison Ranch
Cheyenne, Wyoming
This massive 27,500-acre working ranch lets you ride a custom train right into the middle of a massive bison herd. You can hand-feed these majestic giants, go horseback riding, and dine at the on-site steakhouse. It is a classic Old West experience that once hosted President Theodore Roosevelt.

World's Largest Elkhorn Arch
Afton, Wyoming
Spanning US Highway 89, this colossal arch is made of over 3,000 naturally shed elk antlers. Weighing 15 tons, it has welcomed travelers to Afton since 1958. Amazingly, not a single elk was harmed to construct this unique mountain-town monument.

Tree in the Rock
Laramie, Wyoming
This resilient limber pine tree has been growing directly out of a solid granite boulder since at least the 1800s. Originally noticed by Union Pacific Railroad surveyors, the tracks were detoured slightly to preserve it. Today, it stands as a unique testament to nature's persistence in the median of Interstate 80.

Smith Mansion
Wapiti, Wyoming
This towering, whimsical wooden structure is a monument to obsessive creation. Hand-built by local builder Lee Smith using logs he harvested himself, this fascinating 'crazy house' stands empty and incomplete in the Wapiti Valley, sparking the imagination of every passing traveler.
